Our Impact

In view of our focus areas, Patricia Sukore Foundation for women and Children have accomplished projects in the following areas:


1.   Programs directed at addressing issues of violence and                     discrimination against women
       (a) we do this by educating women on what their inherent rights are and proffer support in                           exercising their rights and freedom on an equal basis with men.

     
       (b) Enabling women acquire access to resources and employment

       (c)   Enabling access and training on civic and political participation


       (d)   Enabling access to improved social services e.g education (formal and informal) providing                  them with technical and vocational guidance and training programs, including opportunities                which will provide them with a pathway to paid employment and improved work skills.




        (e)   Organizing peaceful rallies to further emphasize the need to curb violence against women

   
     (f)    Advocacy and education targeted against Female Genital Mutilation which is practiced on                    both girls and women



2.     Project directed at children and youth under 18 years                   (especially girls)
(a)    We support the development of disengaged and marginalized children and youth through early intervention, mentoring, sport or recreational activities.

(b)       We support the development of children at risk of marginalization through activities that                         encourage school attendance and retention.





Our aims

  • Empower poor and marginalised people to make informed decisions about their lives and engage meaningfully in their own development.
  • Improve health for poor and marginalised civilians, particularly women, children and vulnerable people.
  • Increase government accountability and responsiveness.
  • Encourage inclusion of women and marginalised groups, in decision-making processes. 
  • Improve gender equity and human rights.
  • Ensure fairer distribution of wealth to close the gap between rich and poor.
  • Greater equity and respect for human rights
