The organization " Patricia Sukore foundation for women and children," join the world in working towards the actualization of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is due to be actualized by 2030. The organization, presently focuses on the following Goals:
(a) Goal no 1: No poverty, it has been discovered that women are the most affected by poverty, since
most of them have to cater for their families. The organization organizes training sessions for
women and girls in order to develop skills for sustainability.
(b) Goal no 4: quality education, this will be achieved by the organization providing quality education
(formal and informal), to children (especially girls). This education includes provision of free education
for children in both pre-school, primary school and secondary school.
(c) Goal no 5: Gender Equality, this is one of the organization's top priority, we will achieve this by
creating opportunities for women which equals opportunities available to the male
gender, this includes advocacy against gender discrimination.
(d) Goal no 10: Reduced Inequalities, making sure advocacy for equal pay equal work yield positive
results.

Background
The history of the SDGs can be traced to 1972 when governments met in Stockholm, Sweden, for the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, to consider the rights of the human family to a healthy and productive environment.[9] It was not until 1983 that the United Nations decided to create the World Commission on Environment and Development which defined sustainable development as "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs". In 1992 the first United Nations Conference on Environment and Development was held in Rio. On September 25th 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
