As primary and secondary schools resume for the 2014-2015 academic
session today in Lagos State, the state government has begun the

(Reuters) - U.S. disease-control agents in biohazard suits removed a sick passenger and his daughter from a United Airlines jet that landed on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey, but federal health officials later said they had ruled out Ebola as a concern.
The passenger, who was vomiting during the flight from Belgium to Newark Liberty International Airport, was escorted off the plane by officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and taken to University Hospital in Newark, accompanied by his daughter, according to a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the airport.

OPPOSITION All Progressives Congress (APC) is kicking against the
alleged appropriation of the glory of Nigeria’s successful containment
of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) to President Goodluck Jonathan and his
ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This came as the leadership of the PDP lambasted the APC, over its position on the efforts of the PDP-led Federal Government to curtail the spread of the dreaded EVD in Nigeria.
The APC said two of its governors, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State and Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State deserved as much credit as the Federal Government on the success story of Ebola containment.
It added that it would amount to sheer dishonesty for the duo to allegedly turn what was a collective effort to a PDP campaign issue.

TRIBUTES TO WING COMMANDER FOR HIS SELFLESS ACT

Tributes have started pouring in for the Wing Commander, Chimda Hedima, who was reportedly beheaded by the Boko Haram sect. The friends and colleagues of the deceased have begun giving vivid recollections of the Airforce pilot's last days.
He reportedly faced death squarely without losing composure or twitching.
Hedima's colleagues, narrating his story on social media said the pilot, born in 1975, crashed his aircraft into the Boko Haram militants base, taking out at least 63 of the terrorists.
On the Nigerian Army Support Group Facebook page, friends of the man wrote: “It is with deep regret that we announce the death of a true Nigerian hero, Wing Commander Chimda Hedima.
